George Ballantine founded in 1827 in Edinburgh / Scotland a small general store. A little later, he expanded his assortment and also made a name as a whiskey trader.
He created his own blends and christened them Ballantine's. When his son sold the company in 1919, the blends were already widespread.
The new owner, Stodard, tried to gain a foothold in the USA. The first agent for Ballantine's in the US was no lesser than the later actor David Niven.
The basic malts for the Ballantine's blend are Balblair, Glenburgie, Glencadam, Miltonduff and Old Pulteney. Ballantine's Finest is a blend with a light body.
Long drink glass with "Ballantine's" lettering, 2cl and 4cl calibration marks and a funny scale, how much Ballantine's "man" should drink in how many "women"!
Dimensions
Height about 16cm
