Nc'Nean - the name sounds like an old Celtic magic word, but is actually the short form of Neachneohain, a Gaelic protective goddess. She was known for being wild, independent, and a little bit stubborn. Just like the distillery that bears her name.

Founded in the Western Highlands, with plenty of green idealism, organic barley, and a clear mission: Distill sustainably - but with style. In a very short time, Nc'Nean has made a name for itself for innovative, modern whisky without frills, but with attitude. Old ways? Cut off. Diesel generators? Decommissioned. Packaging? Recycling-friendly. And now: Single cask at cask strength, exclusively for Germany – that could be seen as a Scottish token of love.

The cask with the number 17-288 dates from 2017 and had a very special home: a Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask – not an everyday occurrence at Nc'Nean. The whole thing matured for seven years in the Highlands, was bottled in 2025, and bears the proud name Aon, Gaelic for "one." Because it is the distillery's first ever PX single cask.

With 671 bottles, uncolored, non-chill-filtered, and a whopping 59.1% ABV, Nc'Nean not only shows off its muscle here, but also its confidence in the German whisky taste.
