When Islay calls, Big Peat doesn't need to be asked twice - and this year, it's not just bringing Scottish charm, but also a very special bottle: The Big Peat Fèis Ìle Limited Edition 2025 is here! A whisky like a bagpipe solo at sunset – loud, smoky, and absolutely unforgettable.

Douglas Laing & Co., the true magicians behind this peaty all-rounder, are launching their annual homage to the famous Fèis Ìle – the Islay Festival, where the entire island becomes a stage for whisky, music, and plenty of boozy excitement. For ten days, the celebrations are as full as a Glencairn glass – and Big Peat is right in the middle of it, not just in the glass!

The 2025 edition comes from the 2010 vintage and was allowed to mature in lovingly selected refill hogsheads – barrels that may no longer be young, but still have plenty of peat left. And what begins on the nose like a seaside bonfire ends on the palate in a first-class BBQ: sweet smoke, salty breeze, and a finish that will bring tears (of joy!) to the eyes of even the most robust Islay fan.

With 40 ppm phenol content, a whopping 50% alcohol by volume, no coloring, no chill filtration, but plenty of character, Big Peat shows that it's far from being outdated. Small batch? Check. Big flavor? Double check!

And because it's a feast for the eyes, the whole thing comes in chic, foil-finished packaging - the smoking jacket of whisky wrappers, so to speak - with a label that tells you all about this limited-edition Islay legend.

• Nose: a powerful opening with sweet smoke, like freshly lit driftwood on the beach - behind it lies a salty, maritime breeze, interspersed with sugary seaweed - as if someone had washed a sweet tooth up to sea - subtle aromas of coal dust and damp campfire ash provide the typical sooty depth that Big Peat fans love so much
• Palate: on the tongue, Big Peat shows its robust side: smoky, sooty and wonderfully dirty, but with a certain sweetness that underlines the robust character Elegantly balanced - salt, peat, and BBQ notes dance in a trio, with a hint of charred wood and light pepper
• Finish: long, warming, and unmistakably BBQ-smoky - the aftertaste is reminiscent of charred grilled ribs in the sea air, accompanied by a hint of ash that lingers on the palate for a long time - a finish that lingers - like the memory of a good festival.
