Portrait: What makes the Scapa 10 year old special

Scapa, founded in 1885, is the direct neighbor of Highland Park and the second distillery in the Orkneys.
Scapa is only half a mile short of the title of "Scotland's northernmost distillery".

The Scapa distillery is located on the Scottish Orkney Islands in the very north of the country.
With a view of the Scapa flow, magnificent single malts with a lot of character are produced here.
The Scapa 10 Years matures exclusively in American white oak barrels and impresses with its sweet, fruity notes.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Scapa 10 year old tastes like

  • Nose: at the beginning freshly cut sweet pineapple with mango Ice cream, followed by aromas of creme brulée and soft honey - followed by spicy cinnamon and citrus peel.
  • Palate: Notes of homemade apple compote with warm spicy tones, followed by hints of vanilla pudding and ripe bananas, in the background milk chocolate and roasted oak
  • Finish: fruity and spicy at the same time in the middle finish
