Like The Octomore Edition 15.1, The Octomore Edition 15.2 is also made from 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley with a phenol content of 108.2ppm.
However, the maturation took place in a mix of 2nd-fill ex-wine and 2nd-fill-ex-bourbon casks with a subsequent finish in 1st-fill exCognac casks.
This trio forms the basis for an extremely complex and elegant Single Malt Scotch Whisky with aromas reminiscent of nutmeg, toasted oak and caramel. The light, floral note that contrasts with the earthy smoke is particularly exciting.
Tasting Notes: This is what The Octomore Edition 15.2 tastes like
- Nose: sweet aromas of ripe lemons and lime peel, reminiscent of Tarte au Citron with meringue topping and lightly roasted oak
- Palate: velvety-soft texture Notes of vanilla sauce, soft caramel and toffee - followed by freshly ground black pepper
- Finish: long and unmistakably maritime with waves of earthy octomore smoke
