The 100 Proof Edition has been closing a gap in the Signatory range since the beginning of 2024. The single malts in the series are bottled with 57.1%vol., the minimum content above which gunpowder soaked in alcohol can be ignited. High percentages meet low prices.
In the summer of 2024, Signatory will present three new bottlings in the series - all in Casks pre-filled with Oloroso Sherry. The single malts from Speyside fit perfectly into the season.
In blends it provides depth and complexity, as a single malt it is mild, floral and fruity: The Linkwood 2013 100 Proof Edition #19 was allowed to mature in Oloroso sherry casks for a decade.
Tasting Notes: This is what the Linkwood 2013 100 Proof Edition #19 Signatory Vintage tastes like
- Nose: sweetened oat flakes, aromas of vanilla and coconut, behind it spicy American oak
- Palate: clearly walnuts and almonds, then fresh notes of apricots, coconuts and vanilla
- Finish: medium-long finish - again the nuts and apricots - above all light hints of oak and vanilla
