It is a rarity in the Scottish distillery landscape: The Lochlea Distillery is independent, family-run - and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to grow its own barley. Under the management of industry leader John Campbell >This creates authentic single malts, characterized by the barley of their region and a taste profile that is exceptional for the Lowlands.

Presented with the Lochlea 5 Years 2018/2023 The “farm distillery” is their oldest and first bottling with an age statement. The single malt combines five bourbon and sherry casks hand-picked by John Campbell. Two of them date from 2018 and are among the first casks Lochlea ever filled. The five-year-old was 50% vol. Bottled without coloring or chill filtration. You can taste it: After the start with brown sugar and baked pineapple, lush, cake-like scents on the palate give way to citrus peel and crumble with candied pear. Tangy orange peels slowly transition into rich caramel in the aftertaste, accompanied by a hint of black pepper, rose petals and leather.
