The thirteenth bottling of the 100% Islay edition from Kilchoman.
Kilchoman selected 44 exBourbon barrels for this limited vatting - all filled with fresh distillate between the Years 2012 to 2014.
The distillation was carried out exclusively from the Publican barley variety with a medium phenol content of 20ppm, the malt matured for at least eight years.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Kilchoman 100% Islay 13th Edition tastes
- Nose: elegant aromas of sweet peat smoke, plus waves of ripe citrus fruits and mild honey - vanilla and in the background Salted caramel
- Palate: the bourbon Barrels used produce a strong malt tone, followed by notes of green fruits - especially apples and pears - slightly spicy, paired with raisins and toffee
- Finish: the peat smoke returns - oily, creamy texture with toffee and caramelized sugar in the long finish
