The Kilchoman Vintage 2016 Port Hogshead #905 #8/10, distilled made from barley, which exclusively comes from the Kilchoman Distillery farm, first matured in ex-bourbon casks and then received a finish in an exRuby Port Hogshead< /strong>.
The Kilchoman Vintage 2016 Port Hogshead #905 #8/10 is heavily peated with 50ppm. 

The visionary aspiration of the 100% Islay philosophy is found in express themselves in this unique single cask collection.  

Carried on by the centuries-old tradition of "farm distilling", the endless possibilities of local artisanal processes and outstanding cask management, the skilful variety is evident Kilchomans.  

Different cask types, vintages and levels of smoke in cask strength are presented.  

Each of the barrels is numbered for the release AN SAMHRADH 2023 by I-X, each bottle is individually numbered by hand and provided with a short Distiller's Tasting Note.

Kilchoman is proud to be Scotland's only distillery to produce a single malt made from their own grown and malted barley.  

The Uniquely Islay series gives Kilchoman the opportunity to experiment with and present unusual barrel types.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Kilchoman Vintage 2016 Port Hogshead #905 #8/10 tastes

• Nose: clear aromas of candied fruit, plus soft peat smoke and nutty aromas - some caramel in the background
• Palate: soft and mouth-filling - again the candied fruit and nuts, now more obvious caramel and butterscotch - soft peat smoke over everything
• Finish: long in the sweet-fruity finish - the influence of the port is clearly evident, too the nuts and a light spice are present
