The seventh edition of the Midnight Series from Douglas Laing's Old Particular series is an 18-year-old Glenrothes from the Scottish Speyside.
Distilled in May 2004, the single malt matured Whiskey for over 18 years in the former Sherry Butt DL17173.
In February 2023, independent bottler Douglas Laing filled the cask down to just 645 bottles.
Tasting Notes: This is what the Glenrothes 18 Year old Sherry Butt Midnight Series #7 Douglas Laing "Old Particular" tastes like
- Nose: clearly the sherry cask influence, plus spicy aromas and some mocha
- Palate: mouth-filling and creamy with clear notes of chocolate and toffee, becoming more spicy afterwards, especially pimento and charred oak are present
- Finish: very long in the Departure, the flavor notes are reflected in the finish, along with preserved fruit and burnt sugar
