Some people collect stamps. Others collect vintage cars. Andrew Symington, founder of the Signatory Vintage Scotch Whisky Company, prefers collecting Casks – and he doesn't do things by halves: Over 10,000 hogsheads, butts, and other wooden wonders are stored in his warehouses. Sounds a bit like a whisky wonderland. And it is.

For this Linkwood 11 year old, he pulled two very special treasures from the shelf: Sherry Butts #204 and #206, both first filled with Oloroso sherry – the whisky equivalent of "front row foot-free." Nothing is left to chance here – except perhaps whether you take one or two bottles.

The whole thing was distilled on April 27, 2012 and bottled in February 2024 – which mathematically makes 11 years, but in whisky terms is a pretty mature affair. Especially considering that this drop is not chill-filtered. Or as whisky nerds say: "Un-chillfiltered - just as nature (and Andrew) intended."

The Linkwood distillery, based in the Scottish Speyside, is famous for elegant, approachable malts - if you know where to look. And that's exactly what Signatory has done. The result: a single-cask duo that will delight fans of fruit, depth, and character - and definitely won't end up on supermarket shelves.
