Portrait: What makes the magic potion so special.
Numerous whisky fans have succumbed to it: the magical taste of peat. Because the independent bottler Michel Reick, as a whisky druid, is very familiar with cask magic, he has married peaty finds from the Signatory Vintage warehouse into a magic potion.
Peat fans meet Scotch whiskey in his limited-edition blended malt on strong, maritime smoke, the sweetness of caramel and milk chocolate, seaweed and crispy fried bacon.
Tasting Notes: This is what the Zaubertrank tastes like
- Nose: strong peat smoke and salty seaweed, behind which the scent of fried bacon and old leather - in the background buterscotch and caramel
- Palate: mouth-filling with intense peat smoke and moist ash, behind that again the Bacon and BBQ smoke - then clearly light chocolate and toffee fudge
- Finish: long in the smoky-peaty finish - seaweed, old leather and gauze bandages are present
