After 180 years in the whisky queue, Glencadam made the step out of the shadows of the blending industry and onto the stage of the original bottlers.
But on rather quiet soles. Their "East Highlands" single malt made from unpeated barley malt is still an insider tip.
The whiskies, which are up to 30 years old and are neither colored nor chill-filtered, are produced in two original copper pot stills, just like when the small distillery was founded.

At 59.8% vol. Cask Strength, the golden-yellow malt unfolds uninhibitedly complex aromas ranging from juicy apples to vanilla panna cotta and nutmeg to ginger biscuits and lime cream.
Nose: Lively and fruity with pronounced notes of juicy apples, poached pears, kaffir lime and vanilla panna cotta
Palate: Layers of sweet cooked fruit, apple compote, apricot cake and vanilla beans blended with nutmeg and spicy oak
Finish: A blend of ginger biscuits, lime cream, passion fruit and custard tarts leading to a fresh floral finish
