Trelawny - for rum lovers, this is the equivalent of the whisky island of Islay: a place of longing with legendary bottlings in the unique style of the region.
Since 1753, the Long Pond Distillery, among others, has shaped this.
Over time, the distillery took over the reproduction of certain styles from operations that closed their doors, and so today stands for various marques - also as part of National Rums of Jamaica Ltd.
For the conglomerate, Long Pond reproduced the rare STCE marque of the Cambridge Trelawny Distillery, which closed in 1947.
STCE stands for Simon Thompson Cambridge Estate and describes rums with an ester content of 550-700 gr/hlpa at the time of distillation.
This means that the rum can be assigned to the "Continental Flavored Style", one of four classifications used in Jamaica.
In 12 years of tropical aging, the casks of the Long Pond 12 Year Old 2010/2022 STCE Cambridge lost over 55% of their volume to the angels.
The rare rest is intense, full-bodied and complex with notes of ripe banana and beeswax, walnut and pineapple to crème brulée and tar.
