The Longrow Red 11 Years Tawny Port Cask Matured initially matured for seven years in ex-bourbon barrels, then the single malt received a second maturation for more than four years in first-fill ex-tawny port wine casks.
Bottled at cask strength with an alcohol content of 57.5% vol. on 8,400 bottles.
Nose: Flavors of red currant, blackberry and cola, along with wet, musty aromas of an old warehouse
Palate: initially sweet and fruity - clearly ripe red fruits, soft honey and notes of brandy - above all the smoky scent of a BBQ
Finish: now clearly peat smoke and salt air, nutty hints - behind it rhubarb, vanilla cream and roasted almonds
