Lindores Abbey Distillery is located in the Scottish Lowlands near Fife and is the first place in a written source from 1494 gives a reference to the production of whisky in Scotland.
Brother John Cor, a monk of Lindores Abbey, was commissioned for King James IV to make "aqua vitae" (the water of life), as whisky was called back then, from barley.

Nose: soft, fruity plums, dates, molasses, hints of vanilla and milk chocolate
Palate: mild dried fruit, molasses, dark chocolate with notes of cinnamon and ginger combined with a pleasant nuttiness of walnuts and chestnuts
Finish: medium length with a warm, fruity finish
