Permanently royal single malt enjoyment: The first Emperor's Way Standard
Pepin III. or Henry IV.: The heavily limited whiskies from the Harz brand Emperor's Way are named after kings and emperors.
In honor of the royal leaders, the Hammerschmiede designed their Peated Hercynian Single Malt to be strongly smoky and with a fine fruity note.
The bottlings are made from 100 percent peat malt with a phenol content of up to 35ppm.
Now someone is ascending the whisky throne that will remain forever: With "Emperor's Way The Imperial Abbey", the Hercynian Distilling Co. is crowning its series.
The new sovereign is the first standard bottling of the series and expands the core range of the distillery.
Batch #1 matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks.
Versatile pre-assigned with sherry of the type Cream, Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso and Palo Cortado, a harmoniously balanced whisky develops in them, which balances smoke, tangerines, raisins, Christmas cake, almonds, spicy oak and dark chocolate.
The team around Head of Distilling Anna Katharina Buchholz was inspired by the Walkenried monastery for the name.
Located not far from the distillery, the monastery not only marks one of the starting points of the Kaiserweg, but also the origins of the regional Aqua Vita distillation from barley.
In addition, around 1250, monks and lay brothers of the monastery built the old hammer mill, the ancestral home of the Hercynian Distilling Co.
