According to legend, a bright halo of light rose against the pitch-black sky over Oban, carried by a celestial being.
An energetic creature carried away the stars and charged across the sky, covering it with a violet glow that bathed the Oban Distillery in an ethereal light.
A burst of energy brought hues of plum and blackberry and gave Oban a sweetness rarely seen before.
On an autumn night, the Northern Lights shone over the quaint seaside town of Oban and its namesake distillery.
One of Scotland's oldest and smallest distilleries, Oban has been bringing life and energy to the tranquil setting since 1794.
And as small as she may be, her mythical nature has been in the stars for centuries.
The aging in refill and first-fill American oak casks and the subsequent double aging in ex-sherry and amontillado casks ensure a mild nose with sea salt aromas.
The creamy texture carries a flavor rich in sweet notes of wine-poached prunes, balanced by bold flavors of salt and spices, culminating in chilli pepper.
An intense sweetness shimmers through light smoke and salty flavors in a whiskey with a supernatural character.
Nose: the top notes are initially rather weak, but then become more and more noticeable, peppered with maritime hints of salt crystal, seaweed and ozone-fresh sea air - then follows a light smokiness paired with light aromas of ripe citrus fruits
Palate: soft and creamy with wine-fruity notes, plus a hint of sweet violet and spicy plum, slightly salty with a pinch of chili pepper - milder in taste with a little water
Finish: long and surprisingly peppery, with a gentle hint of chilli pepper in the maritime finish
