According to legend, the ancient black rock beneath Cardhu one day let out a bloodcurdling crash and erupted in a torrent of tropical heat, creating a tropical paradise.
The biting wind became a gentle breeze and luscious aromas of passionflower and pineapple spread throughout the distillery and the surrounding area.
Everything they touched acquired a unique exotic character.
At midnight the abyss closed again and has been quiet ever since.
Only the lively whiskey distilled that day remained.
Across the windswept fields of heather that now surround Cardhu Distillery, on a green and purple background stands the truth behind Cardhu's original name, meaning 'the black rock': Carn Dubh.

For centuries, the iconic red door has greeted visitors and invited them to a lively whiskey with the crisp-sweet taste of Scottish orchards.
After finishing in Jamaican rum casks, a lively tropical sweetness awakens.
The golden complexion vies with the mild texture, while intoxicating sweet aromas of pink grapefruit and ripe mango intoxicate the nose.
On the palate, the soft taste, characterized by rum and toffee sweetness, releases notes of spicy pineapple and green banana.

Taste: a creamy-smooth and full texture - the taste explodes with sweet notes and a tingling sensation on the tongue, then a fruity and malty sweetness of homemade rum toffee and more exotic notes of spiced pineapple and green banana, made even more appetizing by spicy oak - with a little water a softer texture develops that still has a strong peppery spiciness
