In Speyside, Scotland, the Mortlach 12 Years Refill Hogshead 2006/2022 was distilled in August 2009, then the Mortlach 12 Years Refill Hogshead 2006/2022 matured for 12 years in a refilled Hogshead before the Scotch Whisky was bottled in March 2022 to just 365 bottles was bottled in the Old Particular range of independent bottler Douglas Laing.
As usual with Douglas Laing, without chill filtration and without the addition of colourings.
Nose: Preserved fruit and spicy oak - ripe malt with some honey and toffee
Palate: Mouth-filling and full-bodied with notes of golden syrup, ripe barley and fresh shortbread
Finish: long finish - slightly earthy tones paired with orange peel and candied ginger
