An expansion of the unique and popular Hybrid Whiskey collection and a continuation of Kinahan's journey into new and previously unknown ways of whiskey making using unusual and bespoke casks.
The Kasc project is a bold experiment in whiskey making, using wood provenance as a key factor in flavor design and construction.
Each whiskey is crafted in handcrafted "hybrid" casks, individually constructed from a blend of five different tree species of unique origin: Portuguese Oak, American Oak, French Oak, Hungarian Oak and Chestnut.
The individual habitat of each tree species brings a totally unique flavor variation to this innovative whiskey, creating a multi-dimensional flavor and character.
The daring and unconventional Kasc project, originally an experiment by Kinahan's Irish Whiskey, proved extremely successful and is now taking whiskey-making methods to the next level.
Nose: Freshly sliced mango and pineapple, poached pear, molasses behind with hints of vanilla and spicy oak
Palate: Roasted apricot, caramelized tropical fruit, then sweet notes of sun-dried Malvasia grapes follow - espresso with caramelized sugar in the background
