Distilled in 2009, the Plantation Trinidad 2008 Sauvignon Cask Finish matured first for eleven years in Trinidad in ex-classic bourbon casks, then Ferrand left the rum in former cognac barrels for two more yearsmatured in France and finally the rum received a finish in a former Sauvignon Bordeaux White Wine Cask from the Chateau Haut-Selve and Laubade.

Sauvignon Blanc is probably the best-known grape variety next to Chardonnay.

The Château Haut Selve winery is located in the Bordeaux region and was rebuilt in 1993 by the Lesgourgues family after decades of neglect.
