Très Vieux 54 year old Cognac Fins Bois Lot No. 68 Vallein Tercinier 46,3%vol. 0,7l

Powerhouse from the Sixties: Single Cask Cognac with 54 years of aging for pleasure

Cognacs from Vallein Tercinier have been delighting the palates of discerning connoisseurs since 1850.
Catherine Roudier-Tercinier and her nephew Stéphane Roudier are leading the traditional house into a new era.
To do this, they build on the wealth of experience of their ancestors and a comprehensive, decades-old barrel stock - built up in six generations of cognac passion.

Precious and unadulterated, these single casks tastefully capture a moment in the history of the house.
One of these snapshots has now been selected exclusively for Germany.

The Très Vieux 54 Years Cognac Fins Bois Lot No. 68 rested in the cellars of the house for more than half a century.
The vintage powerhouse was distilled in 1968 exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes from Fins Bois.

Alongside Bons Bois, this "Cru" is the main growing area in Vallein Tercinier.
In fact, the family has lived in Bons Bois for more than 500 years, since 1791 in the picturesque Domaine des Forges in the small municipality of Chermignac.

The Fins Bois encloses the Grande and Petite Champagne and the Borderies in a ring.
The grapes can thrive here on around 35,000 hectares - under particularly favorable conditions.
Most of the growing area is covered in clay, hard limestone and a perfect blend of sand - a combination that provides grapes with plenty of minerals and allows them to grow luxuriantly.

Cognacs des Fins Bois are smooth, round and known for aging quickly.
This often makes them superior to other "crus".

100% Fins Bois Cognacs are still difficult to come by, as their properties make them popular for large and old blends.

With this fins bois lot no. 68, a maximum of 156 gourmets can enjoy a pure Fins Bois.
At 46.3% vol. Cask Strength, the cognac on the nose evokes memories of a Strathisla from the 1960s.
Voluminous and powerful, it shows its full strength on the palate, develops notes of caramel, berries and leather and has a long and engaging finish.
Or, as Serge Valentin from whiskyfun.com puts it: "caught just in time."
