Maker's Mark Oak Stave Selection by Kirsch Import: Exclusive creation for the German market
For this Private Select bottling of the globally acclaimed Kentucky Straight Bourbon Maker's Mark, five different oak staves, each with their own unique profile, were added to the barrel to mature the straight bourbon hanged.
A total of ten staves were combined - a composition that there will probably never be another like this: one Baked American Pure 2, three each of Seared French Cuvée and Maker's 46 staves, as well as two Roasted French Mendiant and one Toasted French Spice staves.
With these staves suspended in the barrel, the individual whiskey matured for nine weeks at 13 degrees Celsius in a cave at Maker's Mark and tastes wonderfully like caramel, cherry lollipops, vanilla and fine spices.
Nose: soft and spicy with lots of caramel and coffee toffee - plus light aromas of cherry lollipops
Palate: full-bodied and spicy-sweet with notes of liquorice and vanilla
Finish: pleasantly long and spicy with tones of caramel candies and cherry lollipops
