The annual "Vibrant Stills" bottling has become a tradition at Wolfburn.
The 2022 edition for Germany is limited to 1,500 bottles - a vatting from first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, which was finished in lush dark rum casks.
This is the first time that a rum cask finish of Wolfburn single malt has been offered for an export market.
...and rum casks are truly a perfect match for the wonderful fruitiness of Wolfburn Single Malts.
The Casks are from 2015 and matured for seven years before being married and with 50%vol. alcohol content came into the bottle - as always without chillfiltration and in natural colour.
Nose: fruity-sweet, white chocolate, cake batter with raisins, overripe fruit, especially banana and passion fruit, followed by apple compote
Palate: again the ripe exotic fruits, now in the foreground peaches, candied bananas, ripe pineapple and sea buckthorn juice - above all sweet herbal notes of sage and fennel
Finish: the sweetness continues with Demerara sugar and a nice creaminess in the medium-length finish
