Founded in 1825, Edradour has had various owners - from the New York Mafia to Andrew Symington, the mastermind behind Signatory Vintage.
The production has hardly changed: Edradour works largely as in the 19th century, including with original equipment.
It has long since become a legend among single malt fans the Highland distillery bottles its most peaty single malts under the Ballechin brand, distilled from malt with at least 50 ppm smoke.
The Ballechin 11 years, exclusively for Germany, illustrates how the peat-smoky raw spirit unfolds in a classic first-fill exBourbon cask.
The "heavily peated" single malt whisky rested for 11 years in American oak, from which it was distilled with 57.1% vol. Alcohol content was bottled.
