Golden pleasure: The new Signatory Vintage Glen Spey 2011/ 2022
In 1988 Andrew Symington founded the Signatory Vintage Scotch Whiskey Company Ltd.
Today, more than 10,000 hogsheads, butts and co. are stored in the small town of Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands.
The exclusive bottlings one of Scotland's most successful independent "bottlers" are now an integral part of whiskey fans' shelves.
Married in limited quantities from just a few casks, they come onto the market in rows - such as the Signatory Un-Chillfiltered Range.
At ideal drinking strength with an alcohol content of 46% vol. the whiskeys of the popular series are not chill-filtered.
The result: they retain their full aroma and allow for more varied taste experiences.
To prove this, the Glen Spey 2011/2022 is now competing.
Haunted stories are being spun about its place of origin.
Fact is: The still relatively unknown Speyside Single Malt Scotch matured for ten years in "first-use" hogsheads and flows into the glasses of discerning connoisseurs with an appealing golden hue.
Nose: slightly spicy aromas of freshly cut oak, behind it warm vanilla pudding and toffee - above all fruity aromas of ripe oranges
Palate: mouth-filling and soft in taste - again the vanilla, plus almonds and light fruit
Finish: medium finish - again the almonds and the oranges - hints of spicy Tone
