Vanilla ice cream with raisins: The new Signatory Small Batch from Glenlossie
In 2008, the Speyside distillery near Elgin distilled the basis for the new edition of the Signatory Small Batch range, designed exclusively for the German market.
The German importer Kirsch Import selects the casks together with its long-standing partner Signatory Vintage - always at least three.
In this case: two refill hogsheads and one Sherry Butt, in which distillery style and sherry character are combined with relish.
The Signatory Small Batch Edition #12 rested in the barrels for 13 years - enough time for the limited bottling, to develop their natural amber colour.
The creamy single has also tasted great Malt Scotch served generously with the selected hogsheads and the sherry butt.
Raisins, caramel butter, vanilla ice cream, dark fruits and a pleasant spiciness unfold their full aroma thanks to the lack of chill filtration.
