Lindores Abbey Distillery is located in the Scottish Lowlands near Fife and is the first place in a written source from 1494 gives a reference to the production of whisky in Scotland.
Brother John Cor, a monk of Lindores Abbey, was commissioned for King James IV to make "aqua vitae" (the water of life), as whisky was called back then, from barley.

Nose: mild, fruity apricot jam, toffee and a hint of cinnamon combined with butter and custard
Palate: a pleasant sweetness with spicy notes - mild plums and red berries, syrup, cinnamon spiciness and a pleasant woody smoky note with a smooth, silky texture
Finish: medium to long finish - now the spicy tones are in the foreground - behind them honey and caramel
