Delight from the Highlands: With Ben Nevis 2013/2022, the Signatory Small Batch series is back
It stands for Highland Single Malt Whisky with rough edges: in 2013 the Ben Nevis Distillery distilled the basis for the eleventh Edition Signatory Small Batch series, which was designed exclusively for the German market.
For the bottlings launched in this series, the German importer selects the casks together with long-term partner Signatory Vintage - always at least three casks for each bottling.
In this case: two refill Hogsheads and two Sherry Butts, in which distillery style and Sherry character are combined with relish.
The Ben Nevis 2013/2022 Signatory Small Batch Edition #11 rested in the Casks for eight years - enough time for the limited bottling to develop its natural amber colour.
In terms of taste, the Single Malt Scotch also made good use of the selected hogsheads and butts.
Jam, dark fruit notes, fine spice and dried fruit unfold their full aroma thanks to the lack of chill filtration.
