The Loch Gorm Limited Edition 2022 was matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks from the renowned Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin, from which Glenfarclas also gets its famous sherry casks
The extraordinarily intense sherry aromas from the full maturation of the bodega's casks give the whisky a full-bodied and fruity character that combines wonderfully with the classic Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus notes.
For the eleventh edition, casks between the ages of eight and fourteen were selected and married - this bottling brings together for the first time the youngest and oldest casks previously selected for Loch Gorm bottlings.
The freshness of the young 8-year-old casks combined with the older, longer-matured casks results in a fantastic balance of rich, fruity Oloroso tones, the elegant citrus sweetness and the Kilchoman-typical peat smoke.
Nose: Intense, sweet pipe tobacco smoke, behind which the scent of freshly cut strawberries and candied lime peel - above all aromas of orange blossom, soft toffee and cloves
Palate: Clearly dark chocolate and toasted walnuts, plus gentle tobacco smoke, hints of caramel and dates paired with warm peat smoke
Finish: long finish with cinnamon and liquorice root - behind it dark chocolate and earthy smoke
