Located in the Scottish Lowlands near Fife, Lindores Abbey Distillery is the place with the first written record of whisky production in Scotland dating back to 1494.
Brother John Cor, a monk of Lindores Abbey, was commissioned to make 'aqua vitae' (the water of life), as whisky was then called, from barley for King James IV.
Since 2017, the Lindores Abbey Distillery has been producing spirit with its pot stills at this location.
The second bottling from the series "The Exclusive Cask"
The single malt whisky from this bottling first matured in a port pipe before being transferred to the former Oloroso sherry cask #2018/0588 due to a leak.
Distilled on August 2nd, 2018, the single malt whisky was aged for over three and a half years, then this was bottled on February 7th, 2022 to just 670 bottles at cask strength.
Nose: fresh jam and muscovado sugar - behind it aromas of caramelized sugar and dark fruits
Palate: the caramelized sugar again, now clearly dark ripe berries and raisins - light hints of citrus fruits above all
Finish: long and soft finish with fruity notes, light tones of raisins and prunes
