The roots of Demerara Distillers Ltd., which owns the Diamond Distillery, date back to the 17th century.
Tropical as well as continental, matured in bourbon and (for 36 months) in whisky casks, the bottling is rounder and oilier than other rums from the same distillery, has an almost tarry note, a slightly musty touch and voluptuous, dark notes of dried figs and raisins.
It is particularly suitable as an after-dinner rum or as an accompaniment to an intense cigar.
