Product information "Chapter Seven Piper Glen Elgin 12 year old Fable Whisky 56,8%vol. 0,7l"
The early 1900's were a difficult time for whisky production.
Production at Glen Elgin began in 1900 and was twice mothballed and then sold within six years.

Thankfully, Glen Elgin has been revived and has contributed to the flavor of one of the world's most prized blended whiskys, and is also available as a honeyed single malt in its own right.

Worth knowing about the distillery
Glen Elgin distillery's buildings are rather modest, owing to a lack of funding when it was built in 1898.
In 1901 the distillery was auctioned off by the Glen Elgin-Glenlivet Distillery Company for £4,000.
Production resumed, although it only lasted from 1904 to 1905.
Only when Scottish Malt Distillers acquired Glen Elgin in 1930 did their fortunes improve.
One of the most visited distilleries, aided by its location just off the A9 with travelers driving north from Edinburgh

Nose: Honey and light smoke - plus almonds and cereals - followed by slightly fruity aromas and some mint - with a little water nutmeg becomes apparent
Palate: Honeycomb and granola bars, ripe apples, vanilla and some cinnamon - then notes of sorbet, tangy orange peel, fruit salad and pickled apples
Finish: Smooth and soft on the finish - tones of spicy wood, brown sugar and aniseed
