Extremely little produced Single malt whisky - extremely high demand: This is the Single Farm Estate whisky from Daftmill.
Now the Daftmill Summer Batch Release 2010 is in the starting blocks.
Two reasons to be happy: With 6,250 bottles, the Farm Distillery filled a little more bottles than last time.
The Lowland Single Malt is based on barley that Francis Cuthbert harvested in the southern fields of the farm in 2010.
The Optic variety grown there was used for the last time in the summer of 2010 for distillation.
For eleven years, the limited whisky matured in 25 first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels from the Clermont Springs Distillery in Kentucky.
Connoisseurs can continue to explore its complex aromas at an ideal drinking strength of 46%vol. Alcohol content.

At Daftmill Farm everything revolves around growing malting barley, raising beef cattle, potatoes, carrots and broccoli.
Since 2018, however, the Cuthbert family's business from Fife in the Scottish Lowlands has been firmly on the whiskey map of the world: After more than 12 years of waiting, Daftmill brought its first single malt whisky onto the market.
The Cuthberts produce their Scotch in very small quantities, sometimes no more than 100 barrels a year, exclusively from their own barley.
Burning takes place in the low season (June and July as well as in winter), when there is no need to plant potatoes or sow barley.
