Complex & unusually long matured: Rhum J.M Single Barrels for Germany
Bright red roofs and buildings break through the lush jungle, spring water gushes out of the wall, meter-high sugar cane lines the paths: Rhum J.M. is one of the few distilleries in the world to distil Rhum Agricole at home in evergreen Macouba on Martinique.
The small traditional company follows the strict regulations of the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée".
How to meet such high standards of production and enjoyment has been passed on at Rhum J.M since 1845 - up to "Maître de chai" Karine Lassalle, who today is responsible for the diverse range of products of the Antilles distillery.
With two Rhum J.M single barrels - exclusively for Germany - exquisite samples of their skills are now waiting for discerning palates.
Like all rhums from the family-run distillery, they are based on the very freshly pressed juice of the home-grown sugar cane from the foot of the Montagne Pelée volcano.
Rhum Vieux Agricole 2015/2021 is strong with 55.1% vol. A multi-layered Agricole rhum with nutty tones, caramel, characteristic grassy notes and banana peel, among others.
