The big advantage of blended whisky?
You are not limited to the character of one distillery, but can enjoy the best qualities from different distilleries combined.
Hardly anyone enables this at such a high level as Compass Box.
John Glaser and team create textures and flavors that a single whisky often cannot achieve.
For their luxury blends, the "whisky makers" combine high-quality single malt and single grain whiskys from their own cask store in Scotland.

For the Limited Edition Vellichor, Compass Box was able to draw on single malt from one of Scotland's most famous distilleries: Macallan.
The malty-sweet, oily whiskey is complemented by fruity, earthy components from Highland Park, hints of coastal smoke from Caol Ila and heavy, leathery and dark fruity blends from sherry casks.

Composed in this way, the blended Scotch rarity succeeds in reproducing what it is named after: Vellichor, the unique atmosphere of antiquarian bookshops.

As is typical for Compass Box, the packaging also matches the content.
Vellichor comes in the book-style gift box.

Nose: Hints of leather, polished furniture and the crackling dustiness of decades-old pages on the nose
Palate: the palate is packed with rich malt notes, tropical fruit and sherry character, with a delicate but lingering peaty note
