The Epicurean White Port Limited Edition is the newest member of the Epicurean Wood Finish series.
With the passionate belief that barrel storage can give whisky up to 70% of its flavor, Douglas Laing has tirelessly traveled the globe for the Wood Series in search of the finest casks in which Epicurean whisky is refined.
After the initial maturation in traditional oak casks over several years, the whisky was refined in a handpicked White Port Single Cask from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal.
Nose: distinct aromas of sweet honey, lemon candy and freshly polished wood
Taste: soft and mouth-filling - now spicy ginger and lemongrass, accompanied by a hint of liquorice
Finish: long finish with notes of juicy red fruits and a jus made from blackcurrants
Like all Epicurean bottlings, this is of course not colored or chillfiltered, bottled in a naturally shimmering sienna color.
