The hammer forge is located in the Elsbach valley, embedded in the mountainous landscape of the southern Harz.
Instead of iron ore, the Buchholz family uses a different regional raw material: barley.
Since 2002, the spirits manufacturer has stood for Hercynian single malt - sophisticated whiskey from the heart of Germany, which is recognized nationally and internationally.
The reason: the extraordinary variety of whiskys, which are forged with an impressive selection of southern and sweet wine barrels.

The latest work of art from the Harz: the ElsBurn 8 year old Malaga Cask Matured in the limited edition.
From 2013 to 2021, the Hercynian single malt rested in first-filled former Malaga hogsheads.
In the Harz barrel store, Spanish barrels make up a good 10%.
The southern or fortified wine Malaga from the region of the same name matured in them beforehand.
It is made from semi-dry Moscatel and very sweet Pedro Ximénez grapes and is reminiscent of lovely sherries.

Filled in 768 bottles, the limited special bottling prepares an exclusive treat.
The complex experience is underpinned by an alcohol content of 53.7%vol. in Cask Strength.
