Product information "Caisteal Chamuis 12 year old 46%vol. 0,7l"
Named after the Caisteal Chamuis castle of the same name, also known as Knock Castle or Castle Camus.
The Scottish castle was once a strategic fortress that helped Clan MacLeod secure their rule over the Sleat Peninsula on Skye.
The castle's origins were then replaced by an Iron Age fortress known as Dun Thorabhaig in the 13th century, and the ruins of the castle we see today bear witness to its powerful and authentic history.

Mossburn Distillers bottles this magnificent blended malt whisky.
The young company says of itself: "We are here to make whiskys that appeal to those who love Scotch as truly, deeply and proudly as we do."

The new Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is one of the youngest representatives of the Distiller & Blender team from Mossburn on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
The 12-year-old Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt Whisky is allowed to develop its typical character thanks to the double barrel storage in former bourbon and sherry barrels.
A heavily peated, maritime blended malt scotch whisky, strong and smoky, with a pleasant sherry cask finish that offsets the heavier phenolic island malt notes and shows easy access to the sometimes difficult world of peated whiskys.
This is a whisky full of character that consists of a careful selection of fine single malts, all of which are distilled on the Scottish Isles, matured for at least 12 years or more and allowed to mature in exOloroso sherry casks for a rich, smooth and long-lasting finish.

First the whisky matures for a full 12 years in hogsheads made from American oak, the finish takes place in former Oloroso sherry barrels.
The age of this whisky has somewhat softened the maritime power of the peat and was rounded off by the seductive depth of the oak and the slight sweetness of the sherry finish.
Rich with many phenolic aromas and an unmistakable smoky finish.
