Named after the castle of the same name, Caisteal Chamuis, also known as Knock Castle or Castle Camus.
The Scottish castle was once a strategic fortress that helped Clan MacLeod secure their rule over the Sleat Peninsula on Skye.
The castle's origins were then replaced by an Iron Age fortress known as Dun Thorabhaig and the ruins of the castle in the 13th century we see today bear witness to their powerful and authentic history.
Mossburn Distillers bottles this magnificent blended malt whisky.
The young company says of itself: "We are here to produce whiskys that appeal to those who love Scotch as truly, deeply and proudly as they do we. "
The new Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is one of the youngest representatives of the Distiller & Blender teams from Mossburn on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

A classic blended malt scotch whisky in the "Iceland style", strong and smoky, with a pleasant double cask finish that reflects the heavy Island Balances out peat notes and creates easy access to the sometimes difficult world of peated whiskys.
This is a whisky with a strong character, a blend of a careful selection of fine single malts, all of which were distilled on the Scottish Isles.
The finish in first-fill bourbon Casks gives it additional depth and a smoky, gentle oak finish.
The whisky matures in refill and first-fill Casks made of American oak.
The individual malts are blended before they are put into smaller 200-liter first-fill ex-Bourbon Casks.
This second maturation period and the marriage of the Casks add further layers of fresh, fragrant peat smoke notes to the original, medicinal peat notes and a touch of Sweetness and enhances the vanilla notes on the palate.
