The old pot-still still of the Basque Moonshiners has been producing handmade spirits for over 70 years. In 2014, master distiller Juan Carlos Ortíz de Zárate took it over from his grandfather and built a microdistillery around them.
Today it is not only the potato-based Basmoon Vodka that is produced here, with which it all began.
The Basques, inspired by the American moonshine distillers of the Prohibition era, also produce a celebrated whisky made from 100% grain from the Navarre region.

Agot Single Malt Basque Whisky in the Pioneer Edition matures for three years in former Bourbon Casks and Casks from the Rioja Alavesa, the smallest, perhaps most beautiful sub-area of the Rioja wine-growing region.
The result: fresh and smooth aromas of toffee, vanilla and cocoa with the light spiciness of the red wine barrels.
