The peated longrow from Springbank, the 2021 bottling, has a high sherry cask content with 60% and a very interesting note with 10% Chardonnay cask content.
Aged in 60% exSherry, 30% exBourbon and 10% exChardonnay Casks, bottled in 2021.
Nose: clearly the typical maritime influence of a Campbeltown malt, plus aromas of fishing nets, sweet wild berries and dried fruits - slightly salty with a briny note
Taste: sweet honeycombs and bitterscotch, then creamy vanilla and herbs - above all, intense peat notes, burning logs and delicate spices
Finish: again the maritime notes and the peat smoke - plus damp campfire ash and old leather
