No Name No. 3 Compass Box 48,9%vol. 0,7l
"No Name" wasn't meant to be a series, but Compass Box enjoyed creating a variety of heavily peated whiskys.
The interplay of "smokiness" in all three is completely different and shows that peat is anything but one-dimensional.
No Name No. 3 as the third and final bottling completes the trilogy.
It has intense phenols with tarry notes that fans of the first No Name will recognize.
At the same time, the extravagant fruitiness is reminiscent of that of the No Name No. 2.
Compass Box has this, the series final version, based on malt whisky from the Laphroaig Distillery, matured in recharred hogsheads.
The Laphroaig is supported by waxy, fruity and sooty malt whisky from the Bowmore Distillery.
Fruity and silky unpeated malts and a little highland blended malt round off the recipe.

Mortlach Distillery - Recharred Barrel - 7.5% share

Highland Blended Malt - Custom French Oak Cask High Toast - share 0.5%
Nose: heavy peat aromas, reminiscent of a barbecue in the orchard
Taste: the peat again, followed by rich notes of ripe tropical fruits and vanilla
Finish: long, almost endless finish with clear tones of ash, tar and smoked meat

SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No. 1 ist leider aus, so dass ich nicht direkt vergleichen kann, aber No.3 schmeckt (mir) ganz hervorragend.
