This is exactly what Glenmorangie Tale of Winter is all about: a limited edition of 13-year-old single malt whisky, which first matured in former bourbon Casks and then matured in exMarsala wine Casks from Sicily.
The bright and lively aromas of the Tale of Winter will invigorate the senses and convey the feeling of winter in the bottle.
Every sip is one step closer to the cozy comfort of a beautiful cold Christmas day.
Such a special whisky has to dress accordingly: For this limited edition, the bottle and packaging design are inspired by traditional British Christmas sweaters and bring the knitted effect to life through color and texture.
Nose: curious and slightly hot, with the classic Marsala top note of slightly oxidized fruits - a touch of orange toffee mixes with a fragrant top note of lavender honey and sweet rose - with water some caramelized fruits (oranges & pears) come to the fore, along with a hint of sandalwood, Brazil nut and a hint of pine sap
Taste: a juicy, viscous, but slightly peppery mouthfeel leads to an explosion of sweet, nutty notes - coconut powder, red pepper, Brazil nut toffee and sweet barley malt
Finish: sweet demerara sugar and a long-lasting spicy aftertaste of cloves, ginger and cinnamon
