This exclusive bottling for Germany is 29 years old.
The Pittyvaich matured longer than the Speyside distillery lasted.
Opened in 1975 in Dufftown, Pittyvaich (pronounced "pitty-VEK") only produced its malt whiskys until 1993.
At the beginning of the 2000s, the gray buildings were finally leveled with the rolling green landscape.
What remains is a whisky with a rarity, to which independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail, among others, are dedicated.
The traditional company Gordon & MacPhail, also based in Speyside, filled a refill Bourbon Barrel in June this year, filled with Pittyvaich single malt whisky from the year before the distillery closed.
Despite such a long time in the Barrel: With 49.6%vol. The alcohol content of the whisky is still intense.
For discerning connoisseurs, the rarity, limited to 149 bottles, has lovely aromas such as baked apples and sweet passion fruit or the flavor of liquorice, oak and nuts.
