Single cask alarm from Australia: With this single cask bottling, the Starward Distillery presents another delicacy from the single cask.
For this, the progressive Melbourneers expanded their tropical, fruity raw brandy in a former red wine barrel.
Starward always fills "New Make" with a lower alcohol content in the wine-blissful barrels.
This gives them all the more fruit notes and tannins to the whiskey.
The single Cask made of French oak previously contained red wine from the Barossa Valley.
This oldest wine region in Australia is known worldwide for its opulent wines, shaped by the heat of South Australia.
In combination with Starwards raw brandy, the result is a seductive potpourri in which red apples and strawberries are the fruit components and dark chocolate contributes a bitter sweetness.
The round mix can be with an alcohol content in cask strength of 55.8%vol. unfold unchecked.
The barrel only took three years to achieve its enticing profile.
That is enough, because in the headstrong Melbourne climate, the so-called "four seasons in a day", the whisky interacts intensively with the wood and in a short time creates a flavorful single malt whisky that is not available anywhere else.
