Product information "Balvenie 21 year old The Second Red Rose 48,1%vol. 0,7l"
Inspired by the first bottling in 2008 (The Balvenie Rose), the focus of this bottling is the story of the beautiful Maid of Galloway - Margaret Douglas.
Margaret Douglas was the widow of the 8th Earl of Douglas - whose possession and castle Balvenie went to King James II after his death.
Margaret Douglas stayed in the castle and paid the king the annual rent in the form of a single, red rose.
The rose became thus a symbol of true beauty and immeasurable value in the Scottish Speyside.

The single malt of this bottling matured for 20 years in American Bourbon Casks and was finished in Australian Shiraz wine Casks.

Nose: intense ripe fruit combined with strong earthy tones, reveal the delicious scent of fresh mango and subtle oak
Taste: the initial sweetness of blackberries and ripe peaches leads to aromas of lively oak and black pepper, which leave a gentle woody flavor.
Finish: oak notes, again the fruit and the spice
