The single-malt whiskey Glen Els is distilled in the forge Hammerschmiede in the southern Harz.
The distillery ripens its whiskys in exSherry, exMadeira, exMalaga, exPort, exMarsala and exGrandCru wine barrels.
The Journey Editons are always a combination of all these types of barrel.
Aroma: at the beginning a light sweetness with lots of fruit, then develop spicy aromas, with vanilla and toffee
Taste: soft and balanced in the taste, again the fruits, in addition raisins - then becoming sweeter with soft toffee and sweet-spicy oak
Finish: the fruits are preserved for a long time, the sweetness remains, with a slight hint of smoke
