At the beginning of December 2020 Canada gave the whisky world an early Christmas present: Macaloney's Caledonian Distillery published their inaugural releases.
The three single malts were already eagerly awaited by fans.
Previously, the raw spirits of the Canadian distillery had won the coveted gold medals for the world's best new make at the World Whiskies Awards.

Crowdfunded by Canadian single malt and beer enthusiasts, the craft distillery (and brewery) began production on the Pacific island of Vancouver Island in 2016.
The heads behind: three Scots!
Ex-Diageo Master Distiller Mike Nicolson, the whisky Einstein Dr. Jim Swan and founder and fermentation expert Dr. Graeme Macaloney.
They distill fruity distillates from Canadian barley in Forsyth's pot stills, which mature in American and European oak in the island climate.
The fact that it only takes 3 years for the complexity and balance of the unadulterated single malts is evidence of recent awards.
With three Cask-matured raw spirits, Macaloney's Caledonian also shows the potential of its still young spirits.
Mac Na Braiche from Portuguese wine barrels provides a promisingly fruity foretaste of future single malts.
